Procypris mera (common name: Chinese ink carp)[1] is a species of cyprinid in the genus Procypris.[1] It inhabits China and Vietnam and is used for food locally and nationally.[1] It has a maximum published weight of 1.0 kilogram (2.2 lb),[2] has been assessed as "data deficient" on the IUCN Red List[1] and is considered harmless to humans.[2]
